Bas Verheijen is an accomplished executive and top marketer with a proven track record of building profitable businesses, from large corporates to launching Picnic from the ground up.

Named CMO of the Year 2026, he is widely recognised as one of the Netherlands' most prominent (retail) marketers. He combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership and deep expertise in brand positioning and digital marketing. With over 30 years of experience and more than 20 consecutive years in the Dutch BVA Top 100 Marketers, Bas also serves on the advisory board of CMOtalk.

Admission Criteria

To ensure the quality of our network, new members are admitted by nomination of the board. The key criteria are:
  • Role requirement – Marketing leader of a large company, key division, or subsidiary
  • Active position – Currently serving as a Chief Officer or SVP/VP (Marketing, Commerce, or Growth)
  • Budget responsibility – Responsible for a significant marketing budget
  • Trust, integrity & contribution – Your organization is not primarily focused on selling products or services to marketers, and you are willing to actively contribute to the community

MEMBERSHIP TERMS
  • The membership fee for the CMO Community for the 2026 calendar year is €1,995 (excluding VAT)
  • No registration or administrative fees apply
  • Membership can be canceled annually with a notice period of 3 months
  • Payment is possible via invoice or credit card
  • You agree to comply with the CMOtalk code of conduct
